The fair takes place at Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, on Thursday 25 February from 10.30am until 3.30pm and entry is completely free. The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mary Clarkson is officially opening the event at 11am.

There will be displays from attractions, entertainment, retailers and hospitality providers in Oxford and Oxfordshire. Stately homes, museums, guided tour operators, cycling, walking, boating, theatre and dance will all be represented and happy to talk to you.

It will also be promoting events and activities that are taking place through 2010.

On the day there will be free tours of the Town Hall by our Mace Bearer, Bill Spectre will be telling a ghost story, there will be’ taster’ walking tours, narrow boat trips and musical delights from Four Fat Men with Ukuleles – and flamenco guitarists. You will also get to handle items from the museums and try out food from Fosters Catering.

There will be a free prize draw with a wide variety of prizes including dinner for 2 at the Macdonald Randolph hotel, Sunday lunch and complimentary entry to Blenheim Palace for 2, tickets for attractions, river trips, concerts and the theatre, Sunday lunch for 4 at the Oxford Spires Four Pillars hotel and a hamper of local goodies.

Our Access Officer will be promoting the Shopmobility service which is based in the Westgate multi-storey car park and there will be an opportunity to try scooters and powered wheelchairs.

Exhibitors include Blenheim Palace, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Didcot Railway Centre, Upton House and Oxfordshire Narrow Boats. Various museums, including the University museums and the Museum of Oxford, will be attending as well as several hotels, market towns and smaller attractions from the county.

Visitors will also receive a 10 per cent off voucher for purchases in the Gallery café in the Town Hall for that day.

The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mary Clarkson, who will be opening the event, says: “Most people don’t realise how much there is to do in our city and county all year round, whatever the weather and for all age groups and mobility levels.

“This event will be a chance for the many attractions and entertainment venues to show off what they can offer to the public. It is also a chance for the public to see what is on offer to them.

“Many people come to work in Oxford every day so we hope that some of them will pop into the Town Hall for inspiration to plan their spring and summer trips and outings.”
