UK cinema release of ‘Ironclad’ starring Rochester Castle

‘Ironclad’ recreates the famous siege of Rochester Castle by King John in 1215. With a budget of £12million, the movie is the largest independent film currently in production in the UK with a cast that is rumoured to include Paul Giamatti, Jason Flemyng and Sir Derek Jacobi. Although Rochester Castle was rebuilt in Wales for the purpose of the film, ‘Ironclad’ looks set to regenerate interest in the original Norman castle, which still towers over the River Medway.
